Data Sheet - Filtration Functions
Filtration – Electronic air filters
Applications include-
- Consumer electronics - To protect against dust and vapor.
- Industrial electronics– To protect industrial computers, used
on the manufacturing floor, from exposure to dust, dirt, oil and
grease.
- Printers – To capture ozone and particulates released from printers.
Engineered high performance flexible polyurethane foams meet many
design criteria for a variety of filtration functions. These include
the removal of dust and contaminants from particles in air and gases.
The benefits for our foam include relatively low air resistance
and low pressure drop due to the open pore skeletal structure, large
dust holding capacity due to the 97 percent void volume and design
potential for easy installation due to the high tensile strength
and tear resistance. Unlike ordinary urethane foams, they are reticulated
or completely open pore with a three dimensional structure of skeletal
strands resulting in tunable filtering properties.
Properties:
- Strong mechanical properties – tensile and tear strength
- Wide range of controlled pore sizes – very fine for small particulates
- Excellent high and low temperature characteristics
- SIF reticulated felt for excellent permeability and high physical
strength and abrasion resistance.
- Coating technology to increase efficiency and dust holding capacity
