FOAMEX NAMES MICHAEL D. CARLINI
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT - FINANCE
AND ACTING CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

LINWOOD, PENNSYLVANIA,
June 19, 2001 - Foamex International Inc. (Nasdaq: FMXI) announced
today the appointment of Michael D. Carlini, 48, as Senior Vice President –
Finance and Acting Chief Financial Officer. The announcement was made by
John Televantos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Foamex.
"Mike is a certified public
accountant with significant operating and manufacturing experience,"
Televantos noted. "He is a process-oriented executive who has a successful
record of productivity and profit improvement. With this unique background,
he will focus on strategies to improve our business processes and enhance
profitability."
Carlini joins Foamex following
seven years with Framatome, Inc., a global manufacturer of electronic
components. At Framatome, he held various financial and operational
positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as Vice President of
Operations – Connectors America. Prior to that operational assignment, he
served as Global Vice President and Controller, responsible for financial
functions throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. He began his
career with Price Waterhouse & Co. in 1973, then joined General Defense
Corporation, holding senior financial and operational positions for GDC and
its parent, Olin Corporation.
Carlini holds a degree in business
administration from Susquehanna University and an MBA from Drexel
University. He has been an adjunct professor at York College of Pennsylvania
and currently teaches strategic management at Alvernia College in Reading,
Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Financial Professionals.
