FOAMEX BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Addition of New Director Expands the Board to Nine
Members

Foamex International Inc. (Nasdaq: FMXI), the leading manufacturer of
flexible polyurethane and advanced polymer foam products, announced
today that Virginia A. Kamsky, Chairman of the Board of Kamsky
Associates, Inc., has been elected to the Foamex Board of Directors. The
addition of Ms. Kamsky along with the election of Governor Raymond Mabus
earlier this year adds two independent directors to the board, bringing
the total number of directors to nine.
In making the announcement,
Marshall S. Cogan, Chairman of the Foamex Board, said, "The election of
Virginia Kamsky to our board was unanimous, reflecting the confidence we
all have in her ability to make a meaningful contribution to our
company. Ms. Kamsky has a distinguished record of service to many major
multi-national corporations with a focus on a wide variety of business
and investment activities, and we are proud to have her join us."
Ms. Kamsky is the founder,
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Kamsky Associates,
Inc., a New York and Beijing based consulting firm focused on strategic
business and financial initiatives in China. She is a member of the
Counsel on Foreign Relations and a Director of the National Committee on
US-China Relations. Previously Ms. Kamsky served on the Board of
Trustees of Princeton University and currently serves as a member of the
University of Richmond Board of Trustees.
A graduate of Princeton
University, Ms. Kamsky began her career at Chase Manhattan Bank where
she spent significant time in Japan, and then in the International Trade
& Commodity Finance Department. She later assumed responsibility for the
bank's Corporate Division in China.
Foamex also announced that the
next annual meeting of shareholders for the election of directors and
other matters is scheduled for June 29, 2001.
