FOAMEX INTERNATIONAL INC. APPOINTS INDUSTRY
VETERAN TO HEAD CARPET CUSHION BUSINESS
Terry Kall Returns as President of GFI® Business

PENNSYLVANIA, January 11, 2001
- Foamex International Inc. (Nasdaq: FMXI), the leading manufacturer of
flexible polyurethane and advanced polymer foam products, announced today
the appointment of Theodore J. (Terry) Kall, 60, as Executive Vice
President, Foamex International Inc. and President of the company’s carpet
cushion business. Kall will also serve on the Foamex Operating Committee.
The announcement was made by John G. Johnson, Jr., President and Chief
Executive Officer of Foamex.
The Foamex carpet cushion
business, which markets its products under the GFI® brand, is one of the
company’s four major business operations and is the leading manufacturer and
distributor of carpet cushion in North America. GFI® represents more than 20
percent of total Foamex sales.
This is a return engagement for
Kall, who headed the company’s carpet cushion business from 1995 through
1998. Kall joined General Felt Industries in 1974 and served in various
sales, marketing and product management positions before being named Vice
President of Sales and Marketing in 1980. When General Felt Industries
became part of Foamex in 1993, Kall was appointed National Accounts Manager
for the carpet cushion business. He was promoted to President of the carpet
cushion business in 1995.

back to drive growth in this critical business unit."
Kall replaces Kurt Werth, who
resigned in December.
