LEADING CARPET CUSHION MANUFACTURER EXPAND MEMORY FOAM LINE
Foamex GFI Builds on Success of Viscoelastic Carpet Cushion with New Product Line
LINWOOD, PA, December 9, 2004 –
Foamex GFI of Foamex International (NASDAQ: FMXI) today announced the
release of two new carpet cushion offerings to complement their current line of
Viscoelastic memory foam products. The Company builds upon the success of the original
memory foam carpet cushion, Sunburst™, with the introduction of SunBerber™ and
SunGuard™.
Featuring a unique blend of memory foam and first quality prime foam, SunBerber and
SunGuard have a dense yet pliable structure. Both feature Ultra-Fresh® Antimicrobial
protection to prevent odor-causing mold, mildew and bacterial growth.
SunBerber is a 3/8" thick 10-pound rebond carpet cushion featuring a clear film with
web. HUD/FHA approved and suitable for all areas including heavy traffic, SunBerber is
ideal for use with Berber carpet.
Guaranteed for the life of the carpet, SunGuard is ideal for areas where spills and pet
accidents may occur. Featuring a red Spilltrap moisture barrier, SunGuard prevents liquids
from absorbing into the cushion and penetrating to the sub floor below. With SunGuard,
liquids can easily and quickly be blotted away, protecting the carpet above and below the
surface.
Also a 10-pound rebond carpet cushion with a clear film web, SunGuard is available in
a 15/32" thickness and is HUD/FHA approved and suitable for all areas including heavy
traffic.
SunBerber and SunGuard join with Sunburst to create the Sunburst Family of Memory
Foam Products. An innovative product when launched in January of 2004, Sunburst was met
with wide customer acclaim.
"The Sunburst Family offers the most in comfort, quality and consumer appeal," said
Steve Stockwell, Executive Vice President of Foamex GFI. "SunBerber and SunGuard expand
on the innovation of Sunburst and are sure to become fast favorites among retailers and
distributors."
The complete Sunburst Family of Products will be available January 2005 and will be
showcased at the 2005 Surfaces Expo Jan. 25, 2005, at the Sands Expo and Convention
Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
